I’m supporting Mayor Dave Young because he’s the kind of leader who gets things done the right way. He’s a builder, not a talker, a steady hand who’s proven you can strengthen a city without raising taxes or taking on debt. His 40-year track record as a successful investment manager has been an invaluable asset to Orem, guiding our city with the same fiscal discipline and long-term vision that earned us a AAA bond rating and secured millions in grants. Under his leadership, Orem has grown responsibly, launching new parks and innovation programs while protecting neighborhoods from overdevelopment. What I admire most about Dave is that he’s not a politician; he’s a problem solver. He listens, he works hard, and he does what’s right even when it’s not easy. He leads with integrity, puts families first, and brings the kind of real-world experience and common sense that Orem needs to stay strong for the future.

— Dr Lincoln Clifford

I’m proud to endorse Mayor Dave Young for re-election. He has shown integrity in fulfilling the promises he made to our city. Exemplifying like values everyday and proving it through his transparency portal, Orem is a better place having had his leadership.  Moving forward we can rest assured we are in good hands with Dave at the helm.  Let’s keep the positive direction in place.   Re-elect Dave Young.

— Jerry & Sheri Johnson

I have known Dave (and his family) for over 25 years!  I voted for him 4 years ago and I’ve watched him achieve at the highest levels for the city of Orem and in his professional and personal life.  These last 4 years as the Mayor of Orem he has been MORE proactive and successful than any Mayor I’ve ever voted for!  And I have been a resident of Orem for 30+ years!

I highly recommend that you vote to reelect Dave so he can continue the progress and finish up some of the GR8 work he has initiated!

Orem needs Dave Young as our Mayor!

With Much Enthusiasm!

—Greg Carlisle

I have volunteered to work on various Orem city issues and committees the past 35 years, and David Young is the most involved and has been our best Orem city mayor. We need to reelect him for another 4 years!

—Michael May

My interactions with Mayor Young have given me the impression that he is truly concerned for the current and future welfare of the city of Orem and its citizens. I believe he’s fully committed to making Orem the best it can be.”

—Jace Anderson

Mayor Young cares about Orem. I have seen him work tirelessly to help protect our city. He’s a great listener, he’s responsive and will fight hard to be a voice for Orem residents.

When we had a high density project being pushed to be built in our backyard Mayor Young took a lot of time to listen to us and then fought hard to get the best result for the city of Orem.

He has a proven track record and he is the right person to lead our city!

—Milo Ott

I’m very proud to endorse Mayor Dave Young for reelection. I’ve been amazed at what the city of Orem has accomplished under his leadership during the past four years. From stopping thousands of high density housing apts to building a new City Hall, Library, Recreation center, water reclamation projects…etc. to name a few. All without any new taxes. I cannot think of a better CEO of our city than Mayor Young.

He listens to every individual citizen’s inquiries and provides thoughtful solutions, while maintaining what’s best for Family City Orem.

Thank you for your selfless service Mayor Young!

—Todd Covington (Young father, business owner, 15 year Orem resident)

“I know Dave Young personally and trust him. As a small business owner in Orem, I’ve had the privilege of being mentored by Dave, who has been incredibly generous with his time and guidance. Both Dave and his wife went out of their way to help me network and grow my business. Dave consistently demonstrates integrity, makes values-based decisions, and supports the principles that matter most to me.”

—Lee Jacobsen

Mayor Dave Young is doing great things for Orem and should be re-elected. I have known Dave for nearly 40 years. He is honest, hardworking, attentive to detail, and is a true patriot. Dave sees and recognizes the powerful forces working against our Liberty and is willing to confront them and truly fight for Orem and for our way of life. Vote for Dave Young!

—Mary Warner

“Mayor young has done a wonderful job for Orem the past years. I endorse him 100%.”

—Rich Melville

“As an Orem resident, I have been impressed with Mayor Young’s efforts to put Orem residents quality of life as his highest priority. I have observed many times  in council meetings, his efforts to protect Orem residents from inordinate amounts of density housing (and the general accompanying increase in crime), congested streets and preservation of open and green space for current and future residents. I admire and appreciate his leadership.”

—Rachel Wilkerson, Wilkerson Farm

My family ran Wilkerson Farm for 15 years. What happened to us shouldn’t happen to anyone. This local election matters more than ever.

We had a valid contract and were following every rule. Then, the property owner pushed for a zoning change, and despite overwhelming public opposition, the Orem City Council voted 4–3 to approve it. That vote gave the property owner an opening to walk away from our agreement overnight — leaving us heartbroken, blindsided, and with nothing.

The City Council member who supported it now hide behind “private property rights.” But this wasn’t about private property rights — it was about public accountability. When hundreds of residents show up, email, and speak out over multiple meetings, real leaders listen. These four didn’t. They ignored the community they were elected to represent.

When they erased Wilkerson Farm, they didn’t just destroy our dream — they took away a tradition that belonged to every Orem family. It wasn’t just a vote — it was a message that the voices of everyday people no longer matter in Orem.

We weren’t asking for special treatment — just fairness. Instead, we were left behind by leaders who didn’t want to hear our side of the story.

—Doug Nielson, Attorney at Law

—Candace Baxter

He is truly an incredible person who no matter how busy he is will always answer questions from the community honestly with transparency and integrity. —Brad Daw (Former House of Representatives)

I remember the first time I met Dave Young. His passion for his family came through loud and clear. Over the years I have also seen his principles and his ability. His first term has been one of remarkable success. He has done his best to protect the taxpayer, keep Orem safe and clean, and truly make this Family City USA. I heartily endorse him and ask you to join me and my family in voting for him.

—Chip Anderson

When I think of Orem, I think of the pro-family values that define us as Utahns. Being pro-family also means being pro-small business and opposing unnecessary tax hikes — because these principles help our community thrive.

This municipal election season, much is at stake. Some candidates support policies that would raise taxes, harm small businesses, and make everyday life harder for Orem residents. But Mayor Dave Young stands apart. With a proven record of keeping taxes low, promoting small business growth, ensuring government transparency, and championing family values, Mayor Young continues to put Orem first.

I am proud to endorse Mayor Dave Young for a second term.

—Michael May

My interactions with Mayor Young have given me the impression that he is truly concerned for the current and future welfare of the city of Orem and its citizens. I believe he’s fully committed to making Orem the best it can be.”

—David D. Busath, MD

BYU Professor Emeritus and co-Founder of SWONA

uring my 30 years living in Orem, I have watched mayors and city councilors come and go, some focusing on civility, others on growth. Mayor David Young is the first to broadcast his founding principles: Family, God, and County. Many have bantered about Family City USA. He made it our slogan, and with his compatriots Millett and Spencer (and in the future, Muhlestein), has made and will make every vote based on whether it strengthens the environment for raising families in Orem. I have tracked his track record, and can say with certainty that his business and entrepreneurial background have been an enormous factor in running our city and strengthening our commerce without sacrificing further traffic, crowding, and decay. He and his colleagues will NOT give in to pressures to widen streets, throw up mixed use apartment complexes, and run BRT down the middle of State Street. Orem is at a nexus: grow and die, or level off and serve families. Dave and his colleagues will vote for the latter. I am proud to strongly endorse David Young for Mayor, with Crystal Muhlestein, David Spencer, and LaNae Millett for City Council.

—Dan LeBaron

I met Dave Young 4 years ago. I was immediately attracted to his candor in speaking of many troubling issues in Orem City Government that had long since eroded my confidence in City leadership. In 52 years in Orem,

I’ve witnessed many wide-open spaces be filled in, loss of most orchards, always with more tax increases as the City grew.

Entangling alliances , including Big Development and Utopia have cost us taxpayers needless millions, and the Agenda behind them is to keep the ‘cash cow firmly atop their ‘money train’.  I’ve seen vote after vote by people I respect, make decisions, that, despite much citizen input, have removed from our pockets in order to fill bigger pockets, all because “they know better.”

I’ve found Dave Young to be non-assuming, sure, patient and an intent listener. Behind that is a rock-solid desire to beautify our city while maintaining the attractive Family City USA tradition responsibly , fiscally and in whatever way that serves the community.

His past record in office speaks volumes.

I firmly stand behind Dave Young for Orem City Mayor!

—Michele Lee

I wholeheartedly endorse Dave Young for Mayor. Dave has fulfilled his promises to voters. He means what he says and he follows through. He keeps our taxes low, and he listens to the residents. He has been a phenomenal mayor and Orem thrives with his leadership.

—John Palica

“I'm endorsing Dave Young for Orem Mayor due to his demonstrated leadership abilities.

He maintains a strong stance against special interest groups and remains uninfluenced by donor contributions. As a seasoned professional with experience in wealth management (39 years at Paragon Wealth Management), he possesses the expertise necessary to effectively manage and lead others in a municipal environment.”

—John & Jill Barrick

“IJill and I would like to strongly endorse Dave Young For Orem City Mayor. Keeping taxes low, boosting businesses, keeping high density out of our neighborhoods, and still recognizing Orem years from now are vital to us. Dave has delivered for Orem, and he will continue to deliver for Orem.

—Kathy MinsteR

—Terry & Sherry Peterson

“We support Dave Young For Orem City Mayor.  After listening to the citizens of Orem about traffic congestion and lack of enough infrastructure Mayor Young and the City Council were able to remove the State Street Master Plan enacted by former city council members that would have called for 10,000 apartments and a bus rapid transit system down the middle of State Street.  We need to elect David Spencer, LaNae Berg Millett, and Crystal Sorensen Muhlestein, along with Dave Young to keep this high density out of Orem.  We need to elect people who will look after the needs of the citizens of Orem.  We are grateful Mayor Young and these council members want to preserve our city motto: Family City”

—Payce Hadlock
